Typenama is a contemporary magazine that celebrates the richness of Indic typography and the designers shaping its future. It brings together stories, interviews, and insights from creatives at all stages spotlighting how type design and visual language define identity in a multilingual nation.
Create a magazine that elevates the voices of designers working with Indic scripts.
Present typography as culture not just form, but a vessel of history and meaning.
Design a visual identity that reflects the bilingual nature of Indian design practice.
Build an editorial system that balances experimentation with readability.
Typenama, from the Sanskrit word नामा (nāma) meaning “name,” highlights identity and creative expression. Its bi-script logo in Devanagari and Latin reflects cultural plurality. The publication uses type as its main tool, blending contemporary Indian design with typographic experimentation. Each spread creates a dialogue between tradition and modernity, resulting in a dynamic, archival-feeling record of the evolving voice of Indic type.
